TAZEWELL, Tenn. --- The Lincoln Memorial men's golf team rallied on the final day to edge Tusculum on a fifth-man playoff to win the 2008 LMU Fall Invitational. The host Railsplitters posted a final day 293 to shoot 594, matching Tusculum's two-round total (293-301=594).

Per tournament rules, the tie was broken by virtue of the fifth man scores from the first day, which LMU won to win the team title.

Tusculum's Chase Carroll tied for second place with 67-74=141 (-3), three shots behind tournament medalist Kent George of Lenoir-Rhyne, who finished with 67-68=135 (-9). Also tying for second place with Carroll was Brevard's Grant Carnie (71-70=141).

Brevard finished third with 595, followed by Tennessee Wesleyan (597), Walters State (599), Thomas More (601), Lenoir-Rhyne (602), Mars Hill (604), Catawba B (609), Tiffin (610), Wingate (611), North Greenville (611), King (614) and Lincoln Memorial B (642).

TC's Darren Christie finished with 72-76=148 to tie for 14th place, while Lawson George shot 77-74=151 to tie for 25th. Jake Scheffers posted 161 to tie for 55th to round out the scoring for the Pioneers.

This wraps up the fall season for the Pioneers. Tusculum will be in action again Feb. 2-3 at the Outback Steakhouse Invitational in Panama City, Fla.
