HICKORY, N.C. --- Tusculum College's Glenn
Vicary posted a two-day score of 72-79=151 to finish fifth
at the 2009 Chick-Fila-A Invitational, held this week at the
Catawba Springs Golf Club. The Pioneers shot 316 on Tuesday to
finish with a two-day 619 to place fourth.
UNC Pembroke led wire-to-wire with 602 to win by seven shots over
host Lenoir-Rhyne University. Wingate University placed third with
614, followed by Tusculum, Concord University (622), Catawba
College (626) and Lincoln Memorial University (658).
Vicary's 151 is a career-best for 36 holes to earn him a spot on
the All-Tournament team this week. Chase Carroll tied for seventh
with 77-76=153. Darren Christie shot 77-80=157 to finish 19th,
while Lawson George (77-83=160) and Will Loggins (86-81=167)
finished 22nd and 36th, respectively.
The Pioneers will be participating in the Appalachian Cup
Tri-Match this Saturday in Etowah, N.C.
