Nick Porter was named to the Tusculum men's basketball coaching staff in the summer of 2022 where he served as a graduate assistant coach. Prior to the 2023-24 campaign, he was promoted to Director of Player Development.

In his new role, he is responsible for skill development, video, scouting and practice organization for the basketball program.

Porter came to Tusculum after serving as an assistant coach at Motlow State Community College for head coach Arthur Latham for five seasons. While there, he helped Motlow to a 77-61 record, with the team winning the TCCAA/Region VII Tournament in 2018 and helped them advance to the third round of the NJCAA Tournament. Motlow also captured two conference titles in 2019 and 2021.

Porter graduated from St. Catharine College in 2016, where he played for current TU head coach JT Burton for two years. He was a four-year starter and was a part of the program's national tournament run 2014 as the team advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament.

Nick, a native of Owensboro Ky., where he graduated from Apollo High School, is the son of Donnie and Karyn Porter.
