Brandon Johnson joined the Tusculum basketball staff prior to the 2022-23 season where he served Director of Player Development and for the 2023-24 campaign, he will serve as Director of Creative Content.

As Director of Creative Content, he will coordinate the promotion of the program and its student-athletes utilizing social media content with videos, graphics and photography. He will also assist with all aspects of the men's basketball program including recruiting, practice organization, conditioning and academic advising.

Prior to Tusculum, he spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Elizabethtown (Ky.) High School. From 2014-2017, he served as the head boys basketball coach at Thomas Nelson High School in Bardstown, Ky. He also served as a graduate assistant coach at St. Catharine College during the 2012-13 season.

The Elizabethtown, Ky, native played his collegiate career at St.Catharine where he was coached by current TU skipper J.T. Burton. From 2008-2012, he scored 1,405 points which are the most in program history. He averarged double figures in each of his collegiate campaigns including his rookie season where he averaged 15.1 points per contest. In his senior season, he ranked 28th nationally averaging 2.33 three-point field goals made per game in the NAIA. He scored a career-best 32 points on two occasions in 2012 including 8-of-13 from three-point territory against Carroll College and also shot 10-of-16 from beyond the arch against Life University. He earned All-Mid South Conference first team accolades in 2012.

During his collegiate playing career, St. Catharine posted a 62-58 record including back-to-back 20-win campaigns in 2009-10 (21-11) and 2010-11 (23-9). The 2011 team advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

He earned his Bachelor's degree in 2012 in business management and followed with a masters degree in health and promotional leadership in 2014, both from St. Catharine. He followed with a masters degree in special education from Campbellsville University in 2019.

He and his wife Melanie, are the proud parents of three daughters: Macy, Chloe and Olivia.
