John McAllister joined the Tusculum men's basketball program as an assistant coach in the spring of 2022.
He comes to Greeneville after serving with the men's basketball team at his alma mater, East Tennessee State University.
From 2020-2022, he served as a graduate manager where he was involved with the Buccaneers' recruiting and scouting efforts. His duties included game planning, player development and data analytics.
He was ETSU's head student assistant during the 2019-2020 season as the Bucs posted a 30-4 record while winning the Southern Conference regular-season title and later captured the SoCon Tournament crown and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament (which was cancelled due to COVID). He was a student assistant from 2017-2019 before taking the top student position at ETSU during his senior season.
McAllister earned his Bachelors of Science degree from ETSU in 2020 while majoring in sport management. He later earned his graduate degree in 2022, also in sport management.
