Peeler inks with Tusculum men's basketball

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Zailan Peeler has signed a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum and play basketball for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Nick Pasqua.

Peeler, a 6-3 guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, played his prep basketball at Myers Park High School and was coached by Scott Taylor.

Peeler averaged 22.6 points, 7.4 assists and 1.7 steals in his senior season at Myers Park.  He ended his prep career on fire from beyond the three-point arc shooting a sizzling 48 percent in his last nine games with the Mustangs.

"I am extremely excited to add Zailan to this year's class.  He is an excellent student and had an outstanding senior season," said Pasqua.  "Zailan is a versatile guard that shot a high percentage from the three-point line as a senior, led his team in assists, and can play multiple guard positions.  He will add a different dynamic to the guard positon next year for the Pioneers."

Last season Peeler poured in a season-high 27 points against Charlotte Catholic High School, including six rebounds.

Tusculum, located in Greeneville, Tennessee, is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference.
