NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College point guard Mason Fox has been named the Tennessee Sportswriters Association's Men's College Basketball Player of the Week.
Fox, a senior from Crossville, Tennessee, registered the first triple-double in recorded program history in the Pioneers' 87-73 win over Mars Hill University last Wednesday. He posted 10 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists, establishing career-best in boards and helpers in a game. It marked the eighth triple-double of the year in NCAA Division II and the only one in the Southeast Region.
Fox is averaging a team-best 4.42 assists per game, which are second in the league. In his last nine outings, he is dishing out 7.3 assists per contest.
The Cumberland County High School graduate is also averaging four points and 3.1 rebounds per game, while his 2.40 assist/turnover ratio is second in the league and 44th in the nation.
The Pioneers (4-15, 4-10 South Atlantic Conference) are on the road Wednesday when they take on Anderson University for an 8 p.m. contest.
