Pioneers listed in NCAA Men's Basketball Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum College senior Kyle Moore is listed three times in this week's NCAA Division II men's basketball statistics announced officials Tuesday morning.

Moore, a 6-3, 185-pound guard from Gainesville, Fla., is averaging 22.3 points per game this season, which is currently second in the South Atlantic Conference and 13th in the nation. Moore, the 2009 SAC Player of the Year, has scored 20 or more points on nine occasions this season, including four outings of 30 or more.

He enters Wednesday's home contest against Mars Hill with 1,521 in his 77-game career at Tusculum, which is seventh all-time in school history.

The two time All-SAC standout is averaging 3.2 three-point field goals per contest this year, which is 18th-best in the land. Moore has tallied 247 three-point field goals in his three TC seasons, surpassing the conference record of 244 held by former Lenoir-Rhyne University forward John Wadsworth (1992-96).

Moore is also listed 37th in the country in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc this year.

Pioneer point guard Justin Steigerwald is also listed in this week's statistics. The 6-3, 190-pound sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio is ranked 45th in assist turnover ratio (2.22). Steigerwald also leads the SAC in assists per game, averaging 4.56 helpers per contest.

The Pioneers are listed in four team categories, including 15th in scoring defense (60.3 ppg), 41st in field goal percentage defense (.405), 24th in three-point field goal percentage (.400), and12th in three-point field goal percentage defense (.282).

Tusculum is back in action this Wednesday at Pioneer Arena to take on South Atlantic Conference co-leader Mars Hill College (10-7. 5-2 SAC). Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
