ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum senior Jennifer Sparks has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday.

Sparks, a native from Missouri City, Texas, helped the 27th-ranked Pioneers to a pair of league wins over the week, capturing both of her singles and doubles matches.

In Tusculum's 8-1 win at Catawba, Sparks defeated Kasia Zielinkski at the top flight (6-3, 6-4). She also accounted for a doubles point in an 8-1 win over Catawba's Nikiah Knox and Steffi Cook. The former Elkins High School standout won a battle of All-SAC performers in her No. 1 singles win over Kara Stasikelis (6-4, 6-3) of Wingate. She preceded that with a 9-7 pro set win at No. 2 doubles with teammate Amanda Pike.

The SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
