Justin Shaw was named to the Tusculum University football coaching staff in 2022 and will be coaching the TU running backs.
The Durham, N.C. native served as the running backs coach at Berry College for the 2021 season. He helped the Vikings to a 6-4 record while mentoring two All-Southern Athletic Association honorees including first team selection Brandon Cade, who was also tabbed the SAA Newcomer of the Year. Also earning honorable mention distinction were Josh Rogers. Cade averaged 73 rushing yards per game including 7.5 yards per carry with eight touchdowns. He also accounted for four receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
While at Berry, Coach Shaw served as punt return coordinator and was also the program's team academic coordinator.
His coached at the prep level including running back coach at Southeast Raleigh Manget School (2020-21), inside linbacker coach/tight end coach and special teams coordinator at Northern Durham High School (2018-2020). While at Northern Durham, his teams posted a 20-5 record in his two years there.
He also served as fullback coach at his alma mater St. Augustine's University during the spring seasons of 2018 and 2019.
During his collegiate playing career at St. Augustine's he served as the Falcons' team captain four times (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). He was also a a nominee for the AFCA/All-State Good Works Team.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Augustine's in 2017 while majoring in sport management. He completed his Master of Science degree in sport management and coaching from Liberty University in 2020.
