Jason Randall was named to the Tusculum University coaching staff in the spring of 2022. He serves as the Pioneers’ offensive line coach and was promoted as associate head coach in 2023.

In his first season with the Pioneers, he mentored three All-South Atlantic Conference Mountain Division honorees including Tommy Mahoney, Joe Luck and Ben Shellenback. Mahoney garnered All-SAC first team laurels for a second straight season. He was a consensus NCAA Division II All-Region selection and was named to the Don Hansen All-America team. Mahoney was also a Super Region 2 nominee for the Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award.

Randall helped the Pioneers to an 8-3 overall record in 2022 and finished runner-up in the SAC Mountain Division. TU's eight victories were tied for the third-most in school history, while its six SAC wins were tied for the most by a Pioneer football team.

The Chittenango, New York native comes to the TU staff after spending the last four years affiliated with the successful FBS program at Coastal Carolina University. While at the Conway, South Carolina school, the Chanticleers posted a 32-17 overall record including an impressive 22-3 in his final two seasons there.

Three of his four seasons at Coastal included work with the talented offensive line which was on the watch list for the Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the most outstanding offensive line unit in the nation.

After going 5-7 in back-to-back campaigns in 2018 and 2019, the Chants posted a perfect 11-0 regular season record in 2020 en route to capturing the Sun Belt Conference title and a berth in the Cure Bowl. Coastal ended the year ranked 14th in the country and was ranked as high as ninth in the Associated Press FBS poll.

The 2021 club posted its second straight 11-win season (11-2) and a second trip to the Cure Bowl where the Chants posted a 47-41 win over Northern Illinois.

Randall assisted in mentoring two All-Sun Belt Conference offensive lineman including 2020 freshman All-American Willie Lampkin and first teamer Trey Carter. He also coached offensive center Sammy Thompson, who was a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, which recognizes the top walk-on in the country.

Randall earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2019 from Coastal Carolina while majoring in recreation and sport management.
