ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College
sophomore quarterback Luke Lancaster has been named the AstroTurf
South Atlantic Conference Football Offensive Player of the week
after leading the Pioneers to an upset victory over No. 23 Wingate
on Saturday.
Lancaster threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns in TC's
26-17 homecoming win over the Bulldogs. The Gaffney, South
Carolina native connected on 22-of-34 attempts and highlighted his
afternoon with a 76 yard scoring strike to wide-out Ken Drummond.
The connection marked his fourth pass of over 70 yards this
season.
Lancaster did not throw an interception in his outing and the
Tusculum offensive line kept the signal caller protected all game
as they did not allow a sack the entire contest. On the year,
Lancaster has thrown for a conference-best 1,804 yards and 17
scores while averaging 300 passing yards per-game.
The award is his first SAC Player of the Week honor this
season but was named the TSWA Player of the Week on Sept. 22
following his six-touchdown performance against
Lenoir-Rhyne.
Lancaster and the rest of the Pioneers (3-3, 2-2 SAC) will be
back in action this Saturday in a non-conference matchup at North
Greenville University. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
