ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Justin Houston has been named the South Atlantic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
Houston, a sophomore from Cleveland, Tenn., racked up 264 all-purpose yards, including 144 on kickoff returns in Saturday's 41-33 loss against Wingate. Houston opened the game with a school-record 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
He also made a game-high 11 receptions for 120 yards and touchdowns covering 30 and 35 yards.
His 264 all-purpose yards are the fourth-most ever by a Pioneer, while his 144 kickoff return yards are sixth-most in school history.
Houston, a 2013 Preseason All-SAC selection, leads the conference in all-purpose yards per game (173.29 ypg - 16th in NCAA II) and receptions per game (10.4 rpg - 2nd in NCAA II), and is second in the league averaging 117.6 receiving yards per game (11th in NCAA II).
On the season, the Bradley Central High School graduate is averaging 22.9 yards per kickoff return which is sixth in the conference.
Tusculum (3-5, 1-4 SAC) returns to action this Saturday afternoon when the Pioneers travel to 19th-ranked UNC Pembroke (6-1) for a 3:30 p.m. (EST) contest.
