ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Terrence Smith has been named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Football Player of the Week announced league officials Monday. Smith earns this honor for a second straight week.
Smith, a 6-6, 240-pound senior defensive end from College Park, Ga., recorded a school-record four sacks as Tusculum closed its season with a 38-20 win over Wingate. Overall, Smith had eight tackles, and one of his sacks forced a fumble that ultimately led to a TC touchdown. Smith ends his career with 19 sacks, the second most in Tusculum history.
He garnered player of the week honors last week with his 17-tackle performance against Carson-Newman.
Tusculum wraps up the season with a 3-8 overall record, including 2-5 in SAC play to finish tied for sixth in the conference standings.
