CLEVELAND, Miss. --- Tusculum College's journey in the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs continues this Saturday as the Pioneers face top-seeded Delta State University in a second round game beginning at 1 p.m. (EST) in Cleveland, Miss. The Pioneers (9-3) advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 with last week's thrilling 34-22 come-from-behind win over Albany State University. Tusculum has tied a school record for most wins in a season, while making its first trip to the NCAA postseason. The Pioneers captured their second South Atlantic Conference championship and have won their last four games, and six of its last seven.

Delta State (9-1) is the top seed in Super Region Two and received a bye to the second round. The Statesmen have won their last nine games while winning their second straight Gulf South Conference title. Former Tusculum assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Ron Roberts, is in his second season at the helm of the Delta State program. He has been named the GSC Coach of the Year the last two seasons.

Tusculum also has some strong Delta State ties with assistant coaches Pete Golding and Karl Scott. Golding, a 2006 Delta State graduate, is in his second season on the Tusculum coaching staff and first as defensive coordinator. Golding served as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater in 2006. During his playing career at Delta State, he earned All-Conference honors in 2004. Scott, who joined the Tusculum staff this past January as linebacker coach, was a graduate assistant at Delta State last year.

The winner of this week's second round match-up will advance to the Super Region Two final against the winner of the North Alabama/Valdosta State game.
