Cheer signs three recruits for 2023

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University Spirit Squad head coach Trea King announces the signing of three in-state cheerleaders that will become Pioneers in the fall of 2023.

Lillian Armstrong is a senior cheerleader at Greeneville High School. She is a 2022 TSSAA Division 1 Spirit Award recipient. Armstrong is a member of the National Honor Society and is on the honor roll at Greeneville. She volunteers for Greene County Youth Leadership and Greene County Youth Council. In her free time, she enjoys working out and coed stunting. Armstrong plans to major in chemistry/pre-pharmacy at Tusculum.

Emily Head is a senior at North Greene High School. She has participated in both cheer and dance, receiving awards such as National Dance Association All America, Universal Cheer Association All American, and the Pin it Forward award. Head is also a member of numerous academic clubs including Beta Club, National Honor Society, and National Society of High School Scholars. She volunteers for Molly Bears and the North Greene High School coffee shop. In her free time, Head enjoys being a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and First Priority. She plans to major in special education at Tusculum.

Lillian Shaw is a senior cheerleader at Diamond Allstars. She also cheered for Bearden High School from 2019-22. Shaw received the leadership award for her high school cheer team as both a sophomore and junior. She volunteers for Fantasy of Trees and Tree Knoxville. In her free time, Shaw enjoys arts and crafts and cooking. She plans to major in the business field at Tusculum, specifically communications or entrepreneurship.
