GREENSBORO, N.C. --- For a sixth consecutive year, the Tusculum University baseball team has been recognized as a recipient of the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.
The Pioneers, under the leadership of head coach Brandon Steele, accounted for a team cumulative grade point average of 3.31 and was one of five South Atlantic Conference teams and one of 84 NCAA Division II programs to be honored.
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award highlights program coached by ABCA members that posted a team GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
TU earns this accolade for a sixth straight time and the 3.31 GPA is the highest mark during that six-year period.
The Pioneers went 26-26 overall and finished tied for third-place in the South Atlantic Conference standings.
