GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Luis Reyes' walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning completed a rally as Tusculum salvaged a South Atlantic Conference split with visiting Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday at Pioneer Park.
The Bears jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first game and never looked back as Cole Laskowski had a five-RBI performance in LR's 14-4 win in the opener. Lenoir-Rhyne sprinted out to another 6-0 lead in the night-cap, but Tusculum scored seven-unanswered runs including Reyes' game-winner in the eighth as TU rallied to a 7-6 win.
The Pioneers (14-11, 9-5 SAC) and Bears (16-11, 5-6 SAC) will wrap up the weekend series on Sunday with a rubber-match game starting at 1 p.m.
Game 1: Lenoir-Rhyne 14, Tusculum 4

LR also got three-hit outings from Khi Holiday and Zach Evans while starting pitcher Kellen Gradisar (2-0) remained undefeated as he pitched six quality innings.
The Bears plated three runs each in the first two innings to take the 6-0 lead. Sal Carricato belted a two-run home run in the first frame and Laskowski's two-run single proved to be the big hit for the visitors.

Game 2: Tusculum 7, Lenoir-Rhyne 6
Tusculum maximized four hits, six walks and took advantage of four LR errors including two in the bottom of the eighth as the Pioneers overcame a 6-0 deficit to rally to a 7-6 win in Saturday's second game.
With the score tied 6-6 in the eighth, Will Samuelson reached on a two-base infield error to start the inning. Kayl Ratliff attempted to bunt him over, but a second LR fielding error allowed Samuelson to reach third and Ratliff cleverly moved to second base on the play.
The Bears brought in centerfielder Khi Holiday into the infield to provide an extra defensive player to face Reyes. Reyes lined a fly ball to deep right field which was enough to bring home Samuelson with the game-winning run.
LR started the game scoring twice in their first at-bat as Laskowski doubled home Holiday from first base and he would later score on Blake Bean's sacrifice fly.
The Bears scored four times in the third inning including a three-run blast to left field by Carricato for his second homer of the game. Owen Blackledge followed with a solo homer to center field as LR led 6-0.
Tusculum chipped away at the deficit, scoring two times in the third inning and once in the fourth. In the third, Flood hit a two-run, two-out single. In the fourth, Omar Carreras led off with a walk and later scored on a LR error on a routine pop up to the middle of the infield.
Tusculum tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with three runs thanks to two hits and four walks in the inning. Scartz hit a one-out single and later moved to second on Jake Absher's two-out walk. Carreras doubled off the wall in left field to bring home Scartz to make it a 6-4 game. LR reliever Kobie Cushing came on and walked three straight batters, including Samuelson and Ratliff with the bases loaded to tie the game. Kyle Murphy took over on the mound and got the final out of the inning.
TU went to its closer Seth Willis, who retired the side in order in the sixth and worked around a two-out walk in the seventh. Meanwhile, Murphy was just a formidable as he retired the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings.
In the top of the eighth, Blackledge led off with a single. Evans moved him into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. But Willis would record back-to-back strikeouts to set up the heroics in the bottom of the eighth.
Willis (2-1) picked up the victory as he pitched three shutout innings, while allowing one hit, one walk and posted four strikeouts.
Tusculum starter Brady Salyards overcame the sluggish start and blanked the Bears in the fifth and sixth innings. He would pitch five innings while recording nine strikeouts in his 111-pitch effort in a no-decision.
