MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. --- Tusculum University third baseman Christian Ortega has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Southeast Region Baseball first team.

Ortega earns his second All-Region accolade this spring after garnering second team recognition by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). He advances to the D2CCA All-America national ballot with the results being announced this month.

The Miami, Florida senior garnered All-South Atlantic Conference second team honors in April as he led the Pioneers with his .385 batting average (5th SAC) and 67 hits (8th in SAC) including his 20 doubles which were second-most in the SAC and 27th in Division II. His doubles total is the fifth-highest in a Tusculum single-season.

He led the Pioneers with his 20 multiple-hit games including a pair of four-hit performances against Shorter and Anderson. He also finished the season with a 19-game on-base streak. He tied for the team-lead with his eight home runs while his 44 RBI were tops on the team.

Tusculum finished the year with a 25-24 record and qualified for the SAC Tournament in 22 of the last 23 seasons.
