ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum right-hander Seth Willis has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Willis, a junior from Vale, North Carolina, recorded the first no-hitter in program history last Saturday against Davis & Elkins. He walked one and posted 13 strikeouts during the seven-inning no-hitter where he retired the last 18 batters in a row.
Willis moves to 2-1 on the young season where he leads the team with 21 strikeouts, which are the third-most in the SAC and 25th in the country.
Following Tuesday's home game against No. 30 Young Harris, the Pioneers (7-2) will open conference play this weekend when they host UVA Wise for a three-game series beginning with Friday's 6 p.m. contest.
