BOCA RATON, Fla. --- Matt Archer and Ryan Ford recorded three hits each to lead Lynn University to a 9-1 baseball win over visiting Tusculum University Sunday afternoon.

The Fighting Knights improve to 3-0 on the young season, while the Pioneers (2-1) drop their first game of 2022.

Lynn starter Greyson Fletcher pitched five strong innings to pick up the victory, while Jose Martinez scattered two hits over four shutout innings to record the save.

The Knights out-hit the Pioneers by a 14-5 margin while TU committed four errors on the day.

Lynn plated four runs in the opening inning off of TU starting pitcher Drew Slwinski including RBI singles by Daniel Alfonso and Anthony Sanabria.

Meanwhile, Fletcher retired the first nine TU batters in order before surrendering a lead-off double to Rudy Fernandez in the fourth frame.

The Knights made it 5-0 with a run in the bottom of the fourth on Ford's one-out RBI single.

Tusculum got on the scoreboard in the fifth as Wes Reynolds led off with a double and later scored on Zach Wilson's groundout.

Lynn would respond with a run in the sixth and three more in the eighth to cap the scoring.

Fernandez posted a team-best two hits for the Pioneers.

Tusculum will close out its four-game Florida trip on Monday with a 2 p.m. contest at Embry-Riddle.
