Noe named SAC Elite 20 Award recipient for baseball

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University pitcher Kent Noe has been named the 2020 recipient of the South Atlantic Conference Elite 20 Award for the sport of baseball announced league officials Thursday.

The SAC Elite 20 Award honors the student-athlete with the top grade point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 20 team championship sports.

Noe, a native from Knoxville, Tennessee, is enrolled in Tusculum's graduate program in talent development.  He boasts a 3.925 grade point average and graduated from Tusculum in 2019 with his undergraduate degree in sports science. He is a member of the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, Dean's List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List.

The Gibbs High School graduate saw limited action in 2020 prior to the season ending prematurely due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  He pitched one shutout inning on Feb. 15 in Tusculum's 14-4 win over Gannon University.

He pitched in 16 games during his career including eight starts where he went 1-1 with one save. He finished his career with a 4.46 earned run average with 26 strikeouts in 34.1 innings pitched.

Tusculum finished the season with a 15-10 overall record, winning five of its final six contests.
