ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University infielder Jaden Steagall has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday.

Steagall, a sophomore from Hiram, Georgia, had an outstanding opening weekend at the plate, batting .750 with a double, a home run and seven RBI for the Pioneers during their Florida road trip.

He collected multiple hits in all three of Tusculum's games over the weekend including going 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and four runs scored against Lynn University. Steagall also posted a .800 on-base percentage and a 1.083 slugging percentage for the week.

Tusculum (1-3) returns to action this weekend when they host Belmont Abbey College for a three-game series beginning with Friday's home opener at 5 p.m.
