FOREST CITY, N.C. --- Friday night's Tusculum/Lincoln Memorial winners' bracket semifinal of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament has been postponed due to inclement weather. The second day schedule of the SAC Baseball Championship has been affected due to inclement that moved through the Forest City, N.C. area. The elimination game between top-seeded Catawba and No. 2 seed Wingate, which was originally slated to be played at noon, is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday night.
Friday's second game between No. 4 Newberry and No. 6 Carson-Newman will be played either after the Catawba/Wingate game on Friday or possibly at 9 a.m. Saturday morning (depending upon when the Catawba/Wingate game ends).
The remainder of this weekend's SAC Tournament schedule will be determined following the Newberry/Carson-Newman contest.
Tusculum (29-16) recorded its fifth consecutive SAC Tournament win with Thursday's 7-1 victory over Newberry. The Pioneers have held the lead in 45 consecutive innings at McNair Field, including last year's perfect 4-0 record to claim the SAC Tournament title for a third time in program history.
