GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Rolondo Bonner went 4-for-5, while Adam Sigmon pitched eight strong innings to lead Tusculum College to a 7-2 non-conference baseball win over visiting Pfeiffer University Tuesday night at Pioneer Park.

The Pioneers (27-10) recorded a dozen hits, while Sigmon and reliever JD Howard limited the Falcons (16-25) to a pair of hits on the night.

Sigmon (2-1) allowed two runs and two hits in the opening inning, but held Pfeiffer scoreless and hitless over the next seven frames. Howard pitched a perfect ninth, including a pair of strikeouts to close out the victory.

In the top of the first, Jacob Yates led off with a walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and onto third on Tyler Smith's double down the left field line, to extend his hitting streak to 11 in row. Jesse Dunn singled up the middle to drive in Yates and Smith to make it a 2-0 contest.

Tusculum would answer with four runs in third inning as the Pioneers sent eight batters to the plate. TC loaded the bases to start the inning as Bonner singled, Reid walked and Sean Cotten reached on a bunt single. Alexi Colon drove in a pair of with single, while Matt Henriksen followed with a RBI hit. Cody Coffman bunted Henriksen and Colon into scoring position for the first out of the inning. Houser drove in the fourth run of the frame with his ground out.

The Pioneers added a run each in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. In the fifth, Coffman posted his first triple of the year to bring home Henriksen. Bonner posted his second triple of the season to score Lukas Graves from first base in the sixth inning. In the seventh, Henriksen led off with his 12th double of the year and scored on Houser's one-out single to center.

Colon and Henriksen finished with two hits each, while Colon and Houser had multi-RBI outings. Tuesday was Tusculum's fourth straight win over Pfeiffer and third this season.

Tusculum returns to action this weekend as it hosts Mars Hill College for a three-game South Atlantic Conference series, beginning with Friday's 7 p.m. opener.
