TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Tusculum College baseball team has jumped four spots and is listed No. 14 in this week's Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division II Top 30 Poll announced College officials Tuesday.
Tusculum (6-0) swept last weekend's three-game series over Davis and Elkins and is off to its best start in over 17 years.
Tampa (6-2) and CSU-Chico (9-0) hold the top spot in this week's poll, while Florida Southern (7-0), Montevallo (7-1) and Ashland (0-0) complete the top five. South Atlantic Conference member Catawba (5-4) returns to the poll this week and is ranked No. 20.
Tusculum returns to action on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. contest at USC Upstate, who also received votes in this week's poll. Following the USC Upstate game, Tusculum will open conference play this weekend with a three-game series at in-state rival Lincoln Memorial. The Railsplitters were also mentioned in this week's voting.
