GULF SHORES, Ala. --- The Tusculum University beach volleyball team swept its last two matches at Spring Hill's Badger Classic. The Pioneers down William Carey and Berry in dominant fashion on Saturday (Mar. 5) morning.

Tusculum (10-3) is set to take part in the Georgia State Day of Duals on Wednesday (Mar. 9). The Pioneers have matches scheduled against three Division I teams: Coastal Carolina, Mercer, and the host nationally-ranked Panthers.

Match 1: Tusculum 5, William Carey 0
The Pioneers defeated the Crusaders in straight sets in four of the five matches.

The lone flight to go three sets was No. 2. Haley Davis and Emma Johnson won the first set 21-16 before falling 17-21. The Pioneer pair responded with a 15-9 win to help complete the sweep.

Olivia O'Keefe and Charlyn Miller had the biggest margin of victory over their William Carey counterparts. The No. 1 duo claimed a 21-7, 21-13 decision.

In the third flight, Britney Shawel and Landry Tea tallied a 21-16, 21-14 outcome, while Olivia Knutson and Katie McLamb racked up a 21-18, 21-7 outcome as the fourth pair.

Skyellar Hall and Emily Lawless teamed up at the No. 5 slot for a 21-18, 21-17 win.

Match 2: Tusculum 5, Berry 0
TU bested the Vikings by an even greater margin to wrap up the two-day event.

The Tusculum lineup stayed the same except for a switch at No. 5. Diana Bierwagen and Arizona Webb claimed a 21-11, 21-17 victory.

O'Keefe and Miller tallied a 21-9, 21-7 win in the top flight, while Davis and Johnson scorched the No. 2 court 21-4, 21-13.

Shawel and Tea earned their 21-10, 21-18 score as McLamb and Knutson made quick work of their opposites: 21-12, 21-9.
