Pioneers compete at Governor's Challenge

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's beach volleyball team dropped three contests over the weekend at the Governor's Challenge hosted by Austin Peay State University at the Govs Beach Volleyball Complex.

Tusculum opened the weekend with a 5-0 loss to host Austin Peay on Friday and lost twice on Saturday falling 5-0 to Southern Mississippi and a 4-1 setback to Jacksonville State.

Tusculum's lone point in the Jacksonville State contest came from the No. 3 tandem of Gabby Gray and Skyellar Hall as they won a 3-set battle over Ashley Pettibone and Hailey Hughes winning by scores of 21-14, 15-21, 15-7.

Tusculum (3-4) returns to action next weekend as they play two matches at Coastal Carolina on Friday before traveling to Wilmington, North Carolina for four contests against Morehead State (Sat.), Carson-Newman (Sat.), host UNC Wilmington (Sun.) and Florida Gulf Coast (Sun.).
