The Pioneers are proud to call the Roger M. Nichols Complex home of Tusculum University Tennis. The lighted, six-court facility provides one of the finest college tennis venues in the nation.
Constructed in 1992, the complex is named in honor of Roger Nichols, a 1950 Tusculum graduate, who played for the Pioneers. Nichols was also a former Board of Trustee member and Tusculum Sports Hall of Famer.
Revoations on the facility to the Nichols Tennis Complex last summer after receiving major gifts from tennis alumnae, the late Priscilla Watts Foulk '50 and Lesley Murray Hawk '04. Additional private donations from tennis alumni were also received and earmarked for the renovation.
Renovations included a complete resurfacing of all six courts, replacement of all fencing, new LED lighting, as well as new benches and scorecards for each court. Renovations to landscaping as well as new sidewalks and water fountains were installed.
The Nichols Tennis Complex has hosted several State and Regiopnal Tournament, including the USTA Region Championships. It also hosted the 2006 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament.
