Joe Yates returned to Tusculum as the Director of Creative Media & Athletic Marketing in September 2024. Yates spent the 2022-23 academic year as the communications graduate assistant.

Yates comes back to the Tusculum athletic department after spending a year in private business. He will coordinate all aspects of social media content, video for the University's athletic department and its 23 intercollegiate sports. He also assists with coordination of Tusculum's athletic marketing, branding and promotions.

Yates served as a graduate assistant in the Tusculum Athletic Communications office during the 2022-2023 academic year. He assisted in the day-to-day operations of the athletic communications department which included marketing, video production, broadcasting, graphic design, game day management, athletic facilities and social media.

Yates did an internship within the athletic communications department at Morehead State University. He also spent time over the summer doing media promotion for the Commonwealth of Kentucky Spartans, a local basketball program in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

While at Morehead, he spent two years as a student manager for the Eagles' men's basketball team. He has had the opportunity to work in several national events including the NCAA Basketball Academy (2019) as well as Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League (2022).

Yates earned his undergraduate degree from Morehead State in 2022 while majoring in sport management and later earned his Master's degree in organizational training and performance management from Tusculum in 2023.
