Ben Freeman joined the Tusculum University sports performance staff in June 2025 where he serves as the primary contact for women's basketball, men's lacrosse, tennis and cheer. He also works with the TU football program.

The Kansas City, Kansas native served as an intern strength and conditioning coach at the University of West Florida for two years (2023-2025.

During his time as an intern at West Florida, the Argonaut football team went a combined 15-7. The UWF softball team also saw success going 74-33 while capturing a Gulf South Conference title. The Arogs baseball team went 71-44 while also winning a GSC championship. Countless athletes hit new personal records in the bench press, back squat, and power clean with two new program record sin the back squat and vertical jump, respectively.

Freeman played six years of college football at the NCAA Division II level. He started his career at Northwest Missouri State where he played for four season, winning two conference titles, made the NCAA Playoffs three times, and obtained his undergraduate degree in exercise science.

He interned for three years under Master Strength Coach Joe Quinlin and worked with the sports of football, track & field, and women’s soccer. He transferred to West Florida after the spring of 2023 and played football for two more years as the UWF made a postseason appearance. He interned for Master Strength Coach Kent Morgan during that time and completed his master’s degree in sports performance and coaching.

Freeman was a member of the Northwest Missouri State and West Florida leadership council, was a GSC All-Conference selection in 2025, and compiled a career record of 48-14 on the gridiron. He was also selected as a team captain during the 2024 season at West Florida.

Freeman holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
