GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University attacker Liam Macdonald and golfer Jennifer Keim have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Macdonald became Tusculum's all-time leading scorer after finishing with two goals and five assists in a 24-1 win over Quincy on Tuesday afternoon. Macdonald, already the program leader in career assists, broke Nate Wade's record of 142 points with an assist on Kale Lawrence's second goal of the afternoon with 11:01 left in the second quarter. Macdonald has 71 goals and 75 assists for 146 points for the Pioneers, ranking sixth on the career goal list.
The Coquitlam, British Columbia native finished the abbreviated season with a team-high 25 points on 10 goals and a team-best 15 assists. Macdonald was tied for fourth in the South Atlantic Conference with 15 assists and tied for ninth in points with 25. Macdonald also ranked third on the Pioneers with 16 ground balls.
Keim, a senior from South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, led wire-to-wire to win medalist honors at the Barton Intercollegiate. She shot 73 (+1) in both rounds of play to finish at 146 (+2) to capture her first individual title as a Pioneer. She led Tusculum to the team title of the event as TU rallied from a two-shot deficit for the Pioneers second tournament crown this year.
Keim leads Tusculum with her 75.92 scoring average where she has played in all seven events which includes six top-20 finishes including four times in the top-five. Her stroke average is the second lowest in program history for a TU single-season.
