
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University running back Lor'renzo Pratt and outside hitter Cassie Born have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Pratt, a senior from Cocoa, Florida, rushed for a career-high 151 yards and rushed for three 4th quarter touchdowns in Tusculum's 41-28 South Atlantic Conference win on Saturday. He finished the game with four touchdowns overall including his 91-yard kickoff return to the end zone in the second quarter. He scored on runs of 1, 47 and 1 yards in the final 12 minutes for the Pioneers, who outgained the Eagles 285-279 on the ground.
Pratt finished the game with 262 all-purpose yards (151 rushing, 12 receiving, 99 return) which is the seven-highest in a TU game in program history. His four touchdowns are tied with four other players for the second-most in school history.
Born, a senior from Horse Shoe, North Carolina, averaged 3.93 kills and 3.21 digs in leading Tusculum to a 2-1 record last week in South Atlantic Conference play. Tusculum avenged a pair of 3-0 losses with victories over Carson-Newman (3-2) and Lenoir-Rhyne (3-1).
Born posted 16 kills and 21 digs in TU's road victory at Carson-Newman. She followed with 23 kills, 10 digs and a .375 hitting percentage on Senior Night against Lenoir-Rhyne. Born finished off the week with 16 kills, 14 digs and four blocks against Catawba.
The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
