Whinery, Schleuger named Bojangles Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum golfer David Whinery and volleyball outside hitter Sabrina Schleuger have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.                           

Whinery, a senior from Hinsdale, Illinois, carded back-to-back rounds of 71 to shoot a two-under par total of 142 to finish fourth at the Matt Dyas Invitational and earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.  He lowers his season scoring average to 74.33, which is tied for best on the team.               

Schleuger, a senior from Louisville, Kentucky, averaged 2.50 kills, 2.08 digs and hit .224 in the Pioneers' three matches.  She opened the week with eight kills and digs against Mars Hill and followed with 10 kills and four digs at 24^th-ranked Wingate.  She closed out the week with 12 kills, 15 digs and three service aces in a five-set loss at Queens.

The Tusculum College Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Bojangles, located at 3240 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville.  The Bojangles Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
