CROYDON, Pa. --- Facing three more nationally-ranked programs on Saturday, the Tusculum women's bowling team went 1-4 in day two action of the 2020 Northeast Invitational, co-hosted by Sacred Heart University and Long Island University at the AMF Bristol Pike Lanes.
The Pioneers dropped its first three contests of the day against 19th-ranked Sacred Heart (995-935), No. 14 Delaware State (891-835) and No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore (963-860).
Tusculum bounced back and defeated Howard University 855-820 to notch its fifth win of the weekend. But co-host LIU got the best of the Pioneers in the final match of the day, 963-860.
Tusculum (30-31) enters Sunday's bracket play 21st in the 26-team tournament with 8,689 total pins. The Pioneers will open up against Wilmington (Del.) to start bracket play.
