ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The Tusculum College women's basketball will be seeded seventh and will travel to No. 2-seed Catawba College on Wednesday night for a quarterfinal contest of the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament. Wednesday's game will begin at 6 p.m. from Goodman Gym in Salisbury, N.C.

The Pioneers (15-12) finished tied for sixth place in the South Atlantic Conference standings with No. 6 Mars Hill College, but the Lady Lions held the edge in the tiebreaker.

Wednesday will be a rematch of last year's SAC Tournament quarterfinal as Tusculum prevailed 69-59 at Pioneer Arena.

Catawba posted a 20-8 overall record and finished tied for second place in the league standings with Newberry College, with Catawba claiming the second seed via tiebreaker.

winner of the Tusculum/Catawba game will advance to Saturday's SAC Tournament semifinal and will face either Newberry or Mars Hill at 6 p.m. at the Catawba Valley Community College Arena in Hickory, N.C.

The SAC Tournament final will be held on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. Tusculum advanced to last year's final for the first time in school history.

Tickets for all tournament games are $6 per day for adults, $3 per day for children, students and college students with ID.

The winner of the SAC Tournament earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
