GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University and the South Atlantic Conference continue to assess the impact of COVID-19 in consultation with public health and medical professionals, as such the SAC Presidents Council has made the decision to cancel all spring athletics competition and practice for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year. This includes all SAC spring sports championships.
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University softball team split the day with North Greenville, despite eight RBI and two homeruns by Grayson Brown. The Crusaders survived game one 6-5, but the Pioneers avenged themselves with a 13-1 run-rule victory to close out the doubleheader.

WISE, Va. --- The Tusculum University softball team parts the season’s doubleheader against UVa-Wise as eight homeruns were hit out of the confines of Cavalier Field. The Pioneers took the first game 8-5, while the home Cavaliers run-ruled Tusculum 9-1 in five innings.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Chloe Freischmidt has earned the Tusculum University softball program its first national weekly honor with the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) naming her the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.
ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Chloe Freischmidt has earned South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. She marks the first Pioneer catcher to collect the award since Brie Griffin in 2005.
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University softball team swept the series against the Southern Wesleyan Warriors on Tuesday afternoon, in a pair of pitching duels. The Pioneers shutout the visitors 2-0 in game one and a walk-off hit by Alexis Grampp gave Tusculum the 3-2 advantage in the nightcap.

The Bearcat/Fleet Invitational wrapped up on Saturday with the Pioneers going 2-2 in the two-day tournament.

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Anna Alloway has earned South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. This marks the first Pioneer to collect the player accolade since Kaytlin Stroinski in 2013, the year of the Pioneers’ SAC Championship.

With the perfect start through the two series, TU head coach Julie Huebner is the first leader in program history to begin multiple seasons with at least four-straight wins. The 2018 squad also beat both Claflin and Converse to open up the year.
DUNCAN, S.C. --- The Tusculum University softball team swept the season-opening doubleheader with Converse College on Saturday at Tyger River Stadium, needing only five innings to take both contests. Game one ended at 14-5 in a high-scoring affair, while the Pioneers blanked the Valkyries 9-0 in the latter half of the twin-bill.
