Raphaela Jann joined the Tusculum Pioneer staff as the men’s and women’s tennis graduate assistant in 2019.

Jann, a German-Brazilian national, has eight years of experience in sports broadcasting as an on-air presenter, field reporter, journalist, and producer. Fluent in five languages (German, English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish), Jann is a certified interviewer via the University of Hamburg, Germany. She has covered events in numerous countries, using all five languages, such as the MLS Cup Conference Finals, Women’s Soccer World Cup, tennis Grand Slams, Premier League, Champions League, IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Men’s EHF European Handball Championship, etc. Jann is a member of the CCIJP, a French professional journalist commission.

She is also a German Tennis Federation Certified “C-Tennis” coach with 15 years of coaching experience. Most recently, Jann was a tennis professional/chaperone and filmmaker for “Tennis Europe”, leading American teenagers on a tour of Europe to play in tournaments while handling the logistics of the trip.

While living in Paris, France, Jann led and taught an international Bible study for 130 women, along with small groups and the children’s program. She was also the team captain of the Tennis Club de Clamart/TC Issy les Moulineaux, leading the team to promotion twice.

Jann, a 2009 Lipscomb University alumnae, earned double bachelor of arts degrees in mass communication and political science, with a concentration in broadcast journalism. She also finished a master's degree in multimedia sports journalism the next year at Universidad Europea de Madrid in Spain. While competing for the Bison in Nashville for three seasons, Jann was a No. 1 singles and doubles player for the Division I Atlantic Sun Conference team.
