CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Tusculum University defeated Johnson C. Smith University 7-0 in non-conference men's tennis action Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers (7-2) swept all six singles matches in straight sets from the Golden Bulls (0-8) for their fourth consecutive victory.
Tusculum won two out of three matches in doubles to earn the team point, as Tim Klee and Fabian Paier beat Desire Johnson and Antoine Laurent 6-1 at flight one, and Milan Jankovic and Jacco Mensinga defeated Marlowe Anderson and Tayvon Lassiter 6-2 at flight two.
In singles, Klee was a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 winner over Johnson at flight one, Paier defeated Laurent 6-1, 6-1 at flight two, and Jankovic earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Anderson at flight three. Mensinga claimed a 6-0, 6-3 win over Cameron Hyman at flight four, Gaston Aguilera won 6-0, 6-3 over Lassiter at flight five and Rafael Sarasola beat Anthony Jefferson 6-0, 6-0 at flight six.
Tusculum will host Carson-Newman Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex in a South Atlantic Conference match.
