SALISBURY, N.C. --- Tusculum College seniors Chris Hutson and Cameron Dugger carded one-over par rounds of 73 as the Pioneers shot a final round 301 at the 2017 Richard Rendleman Invitational.
Tusculum posted a two-day team score of 611 to finish 11th in the 13-team field. TC finished 30 strokes behind tournament winner Lincoln Memorial, who rallied from fifth place to shoot a final day 285 to finish with 581 for a one-shot victory over Queens University of Charlotte (582).
Coker and North Greenville tied for third place honors with 583, while Lenoir-Rhyne finished fifth with 591. Anderson was sixth with 599, followed by Pfeiffer (601), Brevard (603), Wingate (604), Catawba (607), Tusculum, Belmont Abbey (631) and Livingstone (655).
Hutson finished tied for 23rd place with his two-day tally of 76-73=149. Dugger (81-73=154) and David Whinery (77-77=154) tied for 39th place, while Taylor Smith (77-78=155) and Preston Tucker (80-81=161) finished 46th and 61st, respectively. Dylan Scalf, playing as an individual competitor, finished 72nd with his 84-91=175.
Lenoir-Rhyne's Brad Robinson led wire-to-wire as he carded a four-under round total of 138 (68-70), three shots better than runner-up John McFadyen of Queens (72-69=141).
The Pioneers return to action Mar. 13-14 when they compete at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial, hosted by Wingate University.
