CINCINNATI, Ohio --- The Tusculum University men's bowling team bowled a Baker 5-game total 4,592 and are in eighth place after day one action of the Cincinnati Collegiate Classic which is being held at the Western Bowl.
The Pioneers opened with a team score of 914 in Saturday morning's opening game. TU followed with an 866, but posted solid games of 949 and a Pioneer-best 967 in the fourth team game. Tusculum finished Saturday's action with an 896 as the Black and Orange are eighth in the 22-team tournament field.
Lindenwood has the day one lead with a total pinfall of 4,976. Tennessee Southern is second with 4,964), followed by Tennessee Wesleyan (4906), St. Francis, Ill. (4781), Cumberlands, Ky. (4758), Lindsey Wilson (4747), Blue Mountain College (4712), Tusculum (4592), Pikeville (4557) and Midway (4488) to round out the tournament top-10.
Michigan-Dearborn is 11th with 4,456 total pins, followed by Southeastern Illinois (4443), Siena Heights (4423), Cumberland, Tenn. (4423), Bethel (4399), Kentucky Wesleyan (4345), Milligan (4336), Campbellsville (4314), Cincinnati (4274), Union, Ky. (4201), Thomas More (4116) and Michigan (3986).
The tournament will wrap-up on Sunday with four team games.
