Tusculum bowlers wrap up first two sessions of Hoosier Classic

INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum University's Tyler Moore posted a 19th place individual finish, while the Pioneers placed 10th of 18 teams in the first session of the Hoosier Classic, which is being held at the Western Bowl.

Tusculum totaled 4,634 total pins in the five-game team format on Saturday. TU's bowled a 985 in its second game for its best team score of the session (Tournament #1).

St. Ambrose won the five-game team title with 5,415 pins. Marian was second with 5,303 followed by Webber International (5,226), Saint Xavier (5,030) and McKendree (5,014) to round out the top-five. Emmanuel was sixth with 5,009, followed by Notre Dame, Ohio (4,964), Lourdes (4,8400, Spring Arbor (4,751), Tusculum (4,634), Missouri Baptist (4,631), Huntington (4,626), Thomas More (4,616), Walsh (4,566), Vincennes (4,456), Midway (4,395), Kentucky Wesleyan (4,218) and Bethel, Ind. (4,168).

Moore posted a five-game total 1,041 pins for a 208 average as he eclipsed 200 in every game in Saturday's morning session. His best game came in the fifth contest of the session with his 214.

In the second session (Tournament #2) on Saturday, Tusculum totaled 4,796 pins in its 25-Baker Games and finished 17th of 34 teams competing.

The third and fourth sessions of this weekend's Hoosier Classic will begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday morning with the five-team game format (Tournament #3) followed by 25-Baker Games (Tournament #4) to conclude the weekend.
