Tusculum releases promotions schedule for 2019 home football games

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University has announced its home football game promotions for the 2019 football schedule.

Tusculum will have six home games this season as TU entertains West Alabama, Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne, UNC Pembroke, Catawba and Mars Hill at the Niswonger Sports Complex and Pioneer Field.

Preceding each home football game is the Pioneer Tailgate Party, which will be held outside the stadium and will include music, games and fun for the entire family.

On Sept. 14, Tusculum will host West Alabama in the Pioneers' home opener which will kick off at 6 p.m.  It will be "Black Out" Night as Pioneer fans are asked to wear their Tusculum Black to the game. The first 500 fans will receive a 2019 Tusculum Football schedule magnet as well as mini-schedule posters (as supplies last).

The Tusculum / Wingate game on Oct. 5 will be Homecoming with kickoff against the Bulldogs slated for 2 p.m.  Be there for all the pageantry and tradition of homecoming weekend with the parade, alumni reunions and the homecoming court. It is also Sports Hall of Fame weekend as well as recognition of all TU men's soccer alumni as the program is celebrating its 50th season this year. Tusculum fans are asked to wear TU Orange at homecoming as free t-shirts will be given out, courtesy of Eastman Credit Union.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Pioneers will be holding its annual Pink Out game on Oct. 12 when the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears come to town for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.  Fans are asked to wear pink to the Lenoir-Rhyne game as representatives of the University will be collecting donations throughout the game for breast cancer research.  Breast cancer survivors will be recognized during pre-game ceremonies and Pink wrist bands will be distributed, courtesy of the Susan Crum Foundation.

The Oct. 26 game with UNC Pembroke will kick off a three-game home-stand as well as the Halloween season as there will be a costume contest with prizes awarded at halftime.

The month of November begins when the Pioneers host Catawba for a South Atlantic Conference clash at 1:30 p.m.  The Nov. 2 game has been designated "Give Back Canned Food Drive" as fans donating canned good items will receive free admission.

Tusculum welcomes Mars Hill on Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. for Senior Day as well as Military and First Responders Appreciation Day.  TU will honor its senior members of the football team as well as the senior members of the spirit squad prior to kickoff.  Tusculum will also be honoring members of the Armed Forces (currently serving and veterans) as well as law enforcement, fire fighters, emergency medical technicians and first responders during the game.  All armed forces members as well as veterans and first responders will be admitted free to the Nov. 9 game against the Lions.
