Collin Buete was named to the Tusculum University baseball staff in August 2022 where he serves as a graduate assistant coach.

Coach Buete will assist with all aspects of the Pioneer baseball program including practice organization, student-athlete development, academic advisement and game-day operations.

The Queens, N.Y. native played collegiately at Methodist University and Averett University. While at Averett, he earned USA South Academic All-Conference honors.

Buete has coaching experience both at the collegiate and prep levels as well as summer ball. He served as the head coach at Topsail High School in 2022 where he led the Hapmstead, N.C. program to its first winning season since 2017, while advancing to the NCHSAA Playoffs for the first time in five years. Topsail advanced to the Elite Eight in the 4A State Tournament. Three of his players earned All-Conference honors and was named the Pender Post and Voice Male Coach of the Year.

He served as hitting coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2020-2021 academic year at Southeastern Community College. He served as third base coach as Southeastern finished in the top-three in the conference in extra base hits and team batting average (.290).

He began his coaching career at Hoggard High School in Wilmington, N.C. where he was an assistant coach while mentoring the oufielders. He coached by the varsity and junior varsity programs. His coaching staff posted a 3.02 staff earned run average including a starting rotation which logged a 2.26 ERA.

His summer coaching experience included: Wilmington Post 10 Junior Legion (2018) and the Brunswick Surf N Turfs (2022)

He graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2019, while majoring in communication studies.
