Cronin, McMillen named Zaxby's Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University cross country runners Will Cronin and Nicole McMillen have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.

Cronin, a junior from Greeneville, Tennessee, repeated as the individual champion at last Friday's Zaxby's Open.  He ran 15:54.2 for just the third sub-16 minute time in the four-year history of the 5K race at the Holston Home for Children Cross Country Course.  Cronin guided the Pioneers to a second place showing.

McMillen, a graduate student from Pickering, Ontario, covered the 5K course in 18.58.0, breaking the meet record of 19:27.8 set by Whitney Elliott of Lincoln Memorial in 2017.  She finished 80 seconds ahead of the second-place runner in last Friday's race as the TU women finished third.  McMillen claims her first collegiate cross country title in only her fourth career meet.

The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville.  The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
