McMillen earns second straight AstroTurf SAC Runner of the Week award

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- For the third time this season and second week in a row, Tusculum University's Nicole McMillen has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Runner of the Week in women's cross country, the league office announced Tuesday.

McMillen set a course record by 48 seconds and earned her third race win in four events this season at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted Saturday by Georgia College. McMillen was clocked in 20:54.6 to beat the runner-up by more than a minute and a half over the six-kilometer course, helping the Pioneers to a third-place finish out of 14 teams in the final standings.

The graduate student from Pickering, Ontario has three wins and a runner-up finish in four events this year, and has six top-five finishes in seven career races.

McMillen and her teammates are preparing for the SAC Cross Country Championships, to be held Saturday, October 26 at Wingate.
