Cross Country Finishes Season at NCAA Southeast Regional

MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- The Tusculum College men's and women's cross country teams wrapped-up its 2014 campaigns on Saturday at the NCAA Southeast Regional's in Montevallo, Alabama.

Senior David Cooper was the Pioneers' top finisher on the men's side with a time of 33:53.07 on the 10,000-meter course for a 28th place finish, just a few spots away from his second-consecutive All-Region honors. Overall TC's men finished 21st.

Sophomore Samantha Vogt was the Pioneers top finisher in the women's event with her time of 25:08.86 on the 6,000-meter course that earned her 82nd place honors.

Tusculum's second finisher on the men's side was junior Lawson Burrow who turned-in a time of 36:46.74, while freshman Jacob Cutshall ran his first collegiate 10k in 36:59.81 as the Pioneers' third finisher. Senior Zachary Simpson recorded a time of 37:16.80 to become TC fourth scorer in his last collegiate meet.

TC's final scorer was junior Erick Koskey who ran a 38:12.38 in his first NCAA event as a Pioneer. The final Pioneer runners to cross the line were sophomore Cory Ramsey and freshman Gray Deanda. Ramsey recorded a time of 40:19.74 while Deanda was just a few seconds back with a time of 40:21.15. It was both harriers' first career NCAA event as well.

On the women's side, four runners made their returns to the NCAA Regional's on Saturday. In addition to Vogt, junior Paige Bible posted a time of 28:26.33, while senior Ashley Gregg concluded her collegiate career with a time of 28:52.13. TC's final runner was junior Allison Hall who turned in a time of 30:48.31.
