Miles joins Tusculum cross country staff

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Corey Miles has been named the new assistant cross country coach at Tusculum College announced Pioneer head coach Suzanne Byrd.

Miles, a native of Virginia Beach, Va., brings a wealth of running and training experience with him to the Greeneville campus. He trained with the King College track team where he emphasized sprints and mid-distance with his mentor and Tornado coach Johnny Bomar.

"I'm excited to have Corey on board with us at Tusculum," said Byrd. "He has great enthusiasm and knowledge about running that will benefit our program tremendously. I look forward to working with him this season and in the future."

Miles garnered All-Conference honors during his prep career at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tenn. where he excelled in the 400-meter dash in track for the Vikings. He also ran sprints, mid-distance and long-distance at Tennessee High.

He graduated from King in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in History and is currently enrolled in the MAT program at Tusculum.

Miles' work experience also includes serving as an assistant football coach at Tri-Cities Christian School, strength and conditioning coach for the AAU Girls Crusaders basketball program and a personal fitness trainer.

Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of 10 colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
