Tusculum volleyball remains 10th in NCAA region ranking

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum volleyball team is listed 10th in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region with the release of this year's second installment of the official rankings.

The NCAA region rankings are used to determine the NCAA Tournament field. Eight teams from each region make up the 64-team postseason field.

The tournament champions of the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas and Peach Belt Conference receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Southeast Regional. There will also be five at-large berths awarded.

The top three remains the same with Wingate, USC Aiken and Anderson all holding form from last week.  Flagler and Queens flip-flopped spots as Flagler is fourth while Queens slipped to fifth.  Georgia College and Carson-Newman remain sixth and seventh, respectively, while Augusta, Lander and Tusculum hold spots eight through 10.

The Pioneers have recorded wins over three of the teams ranked ahead of them including Queens, Carson-Newman and Augusta. TC is vying for its sixth NCAA postseason appearance and first since 2013.

Tusculum (15-14, 10-9 SAC) will close out the regular season on Friday when they host SAC front-runner Anderson for a 7 p.m. match at Pioneer Arena. It is also Senior Night as TC will be honoring its seven seniors prior to Friday's match.
