Volleyball drops home finale to Brevard

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Hannah Elmore recorded 11 kills and a .417 hitting percentage to lead the Brevard College volleyball team to a three-set victory over Tusculum College Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Arena.

The Tornados (11-15, 8-12 SAC) won the match by scores of 28-26, 25-17 and 25-23 to complete the season sweep over the Pioneers (11-16, 8-13 SAC).

Brevard posted a .227 team hitting percentage as the Tornados recorded 45 kills with 13 errors in 141 total attacks. BC also posted five team blocks and tallied 82 digs, defensively. Fatima Charachorloo and Alexksandra Vrvilo tallied 25 and 20 digs, respectively for Brevard.

Tusculum Sabrina Schleuger accounted for 11 kills, three service aces and seven digs, while Rachel Garnett and Danae Stauffer added seven kills apiece.

TC setter Hannah Berling finished with 31 assists and 12 digs, while her BC counterpart Erin Barr posted 31 assists, six kills and 15 digs.

Tusculum's Melissa Mazur led the Pioneers' defensive efforts with 20 digs to go along with her six assists. TC also got double-digit digs from Sarah Bouley (13) and senior Kaytlin Stroinski (10).

The Pioneers will close out the regular season on Tuesday as they travel to Lincoln Memorial University for a 7 p.m. contest in Harrogate.
